This diagram originally referred specifically to the weekly summits devoted to stopping the runaway Europe train, but I think it applies equally to any political meeting, where two sides of the political aisle try to come to an agreement. One side thinks one thing, the other side thinks the opposite. No amount of persuasion can change either sides mind because, at this moment in time, changing your mind or compromising means that you are politically weak.

Forget political parties, forget platforms, stump speeches and campaigns. Obama versus Romney? Who gives a shit. The above mentioned scenario will play out repeatedly because the culture, and the political system that supports that culture, isn’t going to change.

So here, for your bemusement, is every fucking political discussion, attempted solution and subsequent failure- ever
